Volunteering with the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo (ECOSLO) allows for the opportunity to join our team as we work to protect and advocate for the beautiful natural environment here in San Luis Obispo County. We have plenty of volunteer opportunities with varying levels of time commitment.

Join us for our first ever Coastal Cleanup Day Volunteer Information Session
Learn the different ways that you can be involved in planning and running this years Coastal Cleanup Day, the largest cleanup of the Central Coast! We’re looking for assistance with marketing/ads, sponsorship and day-of assistance.
Two chances to attend:
Monday, March 4, 2019 from 6:30-7:30pm at Bridge St Inn in Cambria
Monday, March 11, 2019 from 6:30-7:30pm at French Hospital Copeland Pavilion in SLO

One-Time Volunteer Opportunities
Beach Keepers Monthly Beach Cleanup
What: Monthly beach cleanups through ECOSLO’s new “Beach Keepers” program
When: Monthly from April-October, from 9am-11am
Where: Locations vary each month. View our calendar for upcoming dates.
What: Volunteer projects in partnership with San Luis Obispo County Parks and Recreation Department.
When: Once a month, usually on a Saturday, ~3 hours
Where: SLO County Parks, specific locations vary. View our calendar to see more.
What: Coastal Cleanup Day is an International Coastal Cleanup held on the third Saturday of September.
When: Saturday, September 21st, 2019 @ 9am-12pm
Where: 35+ cleanup sites in SLO County. See our CCD page for more info.
What: Join us for our second annual Seas to Trees Day! Choose one of six volunteer projects throughout San Luis Obispo County, from beach cleanups to tree plantings.
When: Saturday, May 4, 2019 @ 9:30am-12pm
Where: Eight volunteer projects throughout SLO County from Cambria to Avila.
Mid-Level Volunteer Opportunities
What: Represent ECOSLO at festivals, fairs, and other tabling events. Shifts are in two hour intervals
Where: Various locations throughout SLO County. Check our calendar for dates and locations.
What: Lead one of our monthly Beach Keepers beach cleanups or a Coastal Cleanup Day site.
When: Beach Keepers is the first Saturday of every month, Coastal Cleanup Day is September 15th, 2018. Shifts are approximately 4 hours long.

Long-Term Volunteer Opportunities
What: ECOSLO has 4 board committees that need the help of community members to ensure their effectiveness. Current committees are: Advocacy, Fundraising, Marketing and Finance.
