Want to gain experience and have fun working in the environmental space?  Consider an internship with ECOSLO.  Internships are a vital part of ECOSLO and ideal for someone who wants to become familiar with volunteering for non-profit organizations, gain experience in environmental work, and become involved in volunteering within the San Luis Obispo community.

All internships are unpaid and last for two quarters (approximately 6 months).

Coastal Cleanup Day Conductor Intern | Want to help plan an amazing community-wide beach, creek, and lake cleanup?  ECOSLO is currently seeking an intern for Coastal Cleanup Day 2017!  This is an exciting and fun event, and you will gain a great deal of program and event planning experience with various organizations through SLO County and California.  SLO County Coastal Cleanup Day on a 30+ site beach cleanup taking place Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9am-noon.  The intern will develop business sponsorship’s, advertising and media efforts, volunteer recruitment, and will assist in event planning & logistics for this event. 

Website Wizard Intern | Take advantage of the opportunity to create a new website for a local SLO County nonprofit.  ECOSLO is looking for a new website – are you interested in making that happen?  We are looking for a student who’d like to have a website creation project for their portfolio.  We are open to WordPress or Wix at this point in time.  We have great content, we just want to simplify and streamline ECOSLO.  Benefits: Industry experience for your portfolio, resume-building project, upon successful completion of the project a testimonial, potential reference, insight to the operational side of a nonprofit, and the ability to make a difference! 

Social Media Strategist Intern | Instagram, Facebook, Snap-chat – are you a pro or looking to develop your skills on various social media platforms?  ECOSLO is currently seeking an intern for social media strategies.  Help the local, environmental center of SLO (a.k.a ECOSLO) get the word our about advocacy efforts, educational docent-hikes, beach-cleanups, and more!  The person in this role will generate a posting schedule and content to be shared on ECOSLO’s website, social media pages, and beyond.  If you’re looking for social media and website experience, look no further than ECOSLO’s Social Media Strategist position!

Community Engagement Amplifier Intern | ECOSLO is currently seeking an intern for engaging the community in participating in volunteer opportunities. This role will be the main contact between our volunteers who lead hikes in the City of San Luis Obispo and the main contacts for groups that volunteer for trash pick-up or trail maintenance within SLO County. If you’re looking for volunteer and program management experience, this one’s for you!
Donor & Membership Master Intern | ECOSLO is currently seeking an intern to assist with donor and membership management. This position will work heavily in our online database, Salesforce, and also help with small membership events and the monthly e-newsletter. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants membership and/or fundraising experience, and also learn database management which is essential to the nonprofit world. 
 Eco-Event Orchestrator Intern | ECOSLO is currently seeking an intern to assist with our upcoming event – our 45th anniversary celebration. This position will gain experience in event planning logistics, eco-friendly/zero-waste practices, marketing sponsor relations, and day-of logistics. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants event planning experience and/or fundraising experience. 
Vigilant Earth Advocate Intern | ECOSLO is currently seeking an intern for advocacy and education.  This role will assist the ECOSLO Board’s Advocacy committee in researching current and prospective advocacy topics, writing articles regarding for general education and for ECOSLO’s stance on topics, and posting information, articles, resources, etc. to media outlets.  This is an ideal position for someone with a communications and/or environmental  protection focus who wants to become familiar with the advocacy side of a non-profit organization, gain experience in environmental work, and become involved working within the San Luis Obispo community.

Storytelling Wizard Intern | ECOSLO is currently seeking an intern for telling the stories of the individuals of ECOSLO.  These pieces will be used on media outlets, both online and in print. The other component of this role is the measuring of success with these communication channels.
