ECOSLO Hike @ Stenner Springs @ Morning Glory Trailhead

Hiking adventures with Jim and Sue! Meet Jim and Sue at the Stenner Springs Trailhead.

Directions to Stenner Springs Trailhead

Head west out of San Luis Obispo on Highway 1 towards Morro Bay. Slightly less than one mile outside of town, turn right onto Stenner Creek Road. Follow Stenner Creek
Road for about 2.5 miles to the end.

PLEASE NOTE:

    • Rain cancels hikes. Go to http://bit.ly/SLOhike for info on trail closures.
    • Please wear sturdy shoes and bring water & a snack.
    • Hike length in approximate and varies with group.
    • No registration, simply show up! 🙂

About Stenner Springs Open Space

Parts or all of the trails (Botanical, Shooters, Morning Glory, Eucalyptus, and Elevator) pass through the Stenner Springs Natural Reserve. The trails may also go through Los Padres National Forest and Cal Poly University property.

Volunteers assist City of SLO Rangers twice per month on specific sections of the open space in need of maintenance. All workdays run from 9am to 12pm. Rain cancels.

Meet at the Trailhead listed. Bring water, snack, work gloves. Tools will be provided, or bring your favorite tool for the job at hand. Call 805-781-7302 for more information.

Protect Price Canyon Monthly Meeting @ Whole Foods Market

Join Protect Price Canyon for their monthly meeting held in the Whole Foods Market community room in SLO.

Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers Trail Work Day
May 10 @ 8:30 am – 12:00 pm

A small crew works in SLO Open Spaces with the City of SLO Ranger Services. Some days are skipped, holidays, etc. If you are interested in helping to build the new M Trail on Cerro San Luis, join us Wednesday mornings at 8:30 at the end of Hill St. in SLO. We are out there every Wednesday morning and work till about noon. Bring snacks and water and wear long sleeves and long pants with sturdy work shoes. Gloves are recommended.

SLO City Ranger Led Hike @ Bowden Ranch
May 14 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Ranger led hikes are a great way to learn more about the open spaces you enjoy.  Rangers cover topics from flora and fauna to local history of open spaces.  These hikes are also a great way to get to know your local rangers and ask questions about the Ranger Service and responsible use of open space.  All Hikes meet at 1 pm and last from 1 – 3 hours.
